Little may know that although wicker is a great material for Patio Furniture sets, it is not naturally weatherproof. Rain, sand, dust, smoke and otherwise can wear down your wicker structures in just the manner of years if you don’t take the necessary steps under harsh conditions. Consider these methods to completely weatherproofing your wicker furniture.
- Clean your wicker patio furniture regularly. This will remove dust and food particles that inevitable weaken the woven fibers.
- Paint your wicker furniture completely from top to bottom at least every 3 years. You should definitely apply two coats of marine varnish to combat heavy rain and make your patio furniture waterproof. Reapply this varnish every two years. (more…)
